This is a recipe that came from our school cookbook in which families contribute their own recipes and get featured on their own cook book page with said recipe and a photo of them with their creation.

Learn to Cook's Jam Hearts

Simple butter biscuits decorated with a jam of your choice.
  • 170g Stork margarine
  • 85g caster sugar
  • 250g plain flour
  • 1tsp vanilla essence
  • Jam to decorate (any flavour you like)
  1. Pre heat the oven to 170 degrees.
  2. Mix the margarine with the sugar until well blended then add in the flour and vanilla.
  3. Stir well with a wooden spoon then use your hands to bring it together into a ball of dough.
  4. Tip onto a work surface and roll and cut to any shape you like.
  5. Try to make the biscuits fairly thin but children may need a helping hand getting them from the table onto a lined baking tray.
  6. Place biscuits onto baking trays lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes.
  8. Once cooled top with the jam of your choice.
